This old-world charming and easy-drinking red is dark purple hued and lovely and lively in the glass, this light-to-medium-bodied red opens with and black currant bouquet that improves once it is opened. There is a soft note of violets on the nose. On the palate, this wine is well-balanced with acids that pop. The flavor profile is a gentle and tasty plum with hints of cranberry, red currant, and freshly grated black pepper. The finish is dry with no noticeable tannins. Enjoy with chicken or beef dishes, or with a variety of cow's milk cheeses. Dornfelder is an obscure grape here, that exists after the crossing of the grape varieties Helfensteiner and Heroldrebe. 12.5% ABV.
