Started in 1984 (Walla Walla's fourth founded winery), Waterbrook is known for fruit-forward, food-friendly wines--primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. With more than 150 combined best buys and critical scores of 90 points or higher, Winemaker John Freeman works with some outstanding vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley and throughout the greater Columbia Valley.
This Columbia Valley wine was selected as our wine of the month almost immediately after showing up on our radar. As soon as we tasted it, we knew we had the one! Aromatics and flavors of green apple and key lime introduce spice and melon-driven flavors mid palate. A finish of vanillins and dried apple notes with a nicely weighted viscosity are balanced by alcohol, leaving only a faint illusion of sweetness.
