Don Peppino pre Phylloxera vineyard with 130+ years old vines.
The Vigna di Don Peppino Calderara Sottana Terre Nere is a heavenly wine, the only one produced with Prephylloxera vines, therefore more than 130 years old, available in very few bottles. The aromas are of a disarming finesse, intense and broad, with notes ranging from currants and red fruits to incense and oriental spices, with balsamic and resinous nuances. On the palate it is a real emotion, despite having enormous evolutionary potential since the early years, the tannins are silky, perfectly integrated, with a very long sapid and mineral finish.

This is velvety yet finessed, with a polished wave of ripe red and blue fruit that flows across a juicy stream of acidity. Hints of sour citrus add contrast toward the close. It finishes remarkably fresh and energetic, still tannic but lively, as crunchy tannins resonate and an air of lavender slowly fades.
