35% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot
JAMES SUCKLING 93 POINTS - "Cedary oak with plenty of dark chocolate, tapenade, black beans, roasted pepper and blackberries. Recognizable cabernet characters give this depth and a demureness. Full-bodied on the palate with fine, dusty tannins and a flavorful middle extending to a long, solid finish. Some bitter chocolate at the end. Drinkable now..." - Zekun Shuai, Senior Editor
"The nose reveals aromas of juicy fresh strawberries and raspberries with hints of menthol. The palate is filled with flavors of ripe plums and bright cherries as well as floral tones of rose and hints of honeysuckle. Chewy tannins are framed by lively acids. The finish is long and spicy with notes of nutmeg and black licorice, followed by lingering white pepper and tobacco." - WINERY NOTES
Tenuta di Arceno: A Modern Days Estate with a Rich History
Acquired by Barbara Banke and Jess Jackson in 1994, Tenuta di Arceno is on one of the region's most historic estates, comprised of 2,500 acres (1,011 hectares), only 220 (89 hectares) of which are planted to vines. The vineyards of Arceno possess an enviable diversity of elevations, facings, soils and meso-climates, a situation that is ideal for the cultivation of Sangiovese as well as the "international" varieties—Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon primary among them.
