In 1998 Joey Tensley launched Tensley Wines with one hundred cases and one single goal – to make wines that let the unique and little-known vineyards of Santa Barbara County speak for themselves. Thirteen years later Tensley is a 4,000 case-a-year business with Syrahs in the Wine Spectator's Top 100, a history of high scores with Robert Parker, and a Food and Wine Magazine award for producing the "Top Syrah in America Over $20."
JEB DUNNUCK 96 POINTS - "The 2022 Syrah Colson Canyon Vineyard is a ripe, sexy, exotic Syrah that has beautiful red and blue fruits, ground pepper, violets, spring flowers, and chalky nuances. These carry to a full-bodied Syrah with a supple, elegant mouthfeel, lots of ripe yet pure fruit, polished tannins, and a solid spine of acidity. It's going to need 2-4 years of bottle age to show its full potential, but it's a gorgeous Syrah that will see its 20th birthday in fine form.
