Hi-Time Notes: Back in 2017, when our German wine buyer was in Germany (with legendary German Wine Importer, Rudi Wiest… how time flies!), and tasted Raumland Sekt for the first time, they were floored by the quality and how well it gave Champagne a run for its money. In Deutschland, sparkling wine produced in Method Traditional is called Sekt, where you will find many sparkling wines from Germany made with Riesling (and while those are fantastic in their own right); more and more, we are beginning to see the traditional Champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier --typically associated with France, emerge from Germany. Savvy Germans in the know are aware that Raumland is their country's TOP sparkling wine house. Period! That's why you rarely see it in the States. So, we are very happy to bring to you this sparkling wine from Sekthaus Raumland. The 2014 Raumland Chardonnay Brut Reserve was aged on the lees for 90 months (or 7.5 years), and dosage is 3.5g/l.
