With fruit sourced from a variety of sustainable California vineyards, the team at Sean Minor has really hit it out of the park with this one! Bright fruits mingle with notes of spice and earth while apropos acidity and soft tannins keep the wine balanced.
The nose is quite attractive with tendrils of bright red and dark fruits meandering across the palate. Notes of red plum, black cherry and ripe strawberries are joined by a hint of forest floor, wood, violets, cedar and light earth.
The palate continues with the fruit-forward theme that has the right amount of body (acidity, tannins) to keep it from being cloying. It really is an enjoyable wine that offers a lot of quality for the fair price. Red plum again takes the lead upon tasting with support from red and black cherries and a hint of redcurrant. Savory notes of hillside brush and wood spice round out the wine as the body keeps it down to earth.
Vacation? Throwing a party? Staying at home, chilling in the back yard? Let Sean Minor join you and things will really pick up-this is fresh, fun Pinot perfect for August!

Bottle Shock! 90pts.
Mis-picked when purchased, thought to be grabbing the sonoma coast edition, went to crack that screw cap, only to be greeted by rich berry, strawberry nuance, with a judicious amount of wood spice, now pushed to the backround. Left in a state of shock, since it could pass as a $27.00 bottling if blind tasted.

Wonderful for the price
Finding a value priced pinot noir that tastes like a pinot noir is hard. This bottle delivers on the dream of a <$15 daily drinker that has the light texture and delicate notes of a proper California pinot.
