DECANTER 97 POINTS - "San Filippo is fully exposed to the east, meaning that in 2019 the Sangiovese was harvested relatively late, from 28 September to 7 October. The wine ages for the first 13-14 months in French oak barrique and tonneaux, then is racked into 20-30 hectolitre oak vessels for about 28 months. It's full of smoky woodland aromas with graphite vibrancy and minerality, cherry kernel, intoxicating violet, and blood orange depth. There's great concentration and volume on the mid-palate, with fine, super-precise tannins and refreshing acidity. But what impresses me most is the savoury character of this Brunello that's built for the long haul... Drink 2024- 2039." - Aldo Fiordelli
