Distilled in Texas and finished in Colorado, Saint Liberty's "Mary's Four Grain" Straight Bourbon Whiskey is an absolute steal and perfect for this time of year-- whether you need a last-minute "stocking stuffer" or office gift, holiday party supplies or winter warmer, Saint Liberty will set you free! It's a very versatile, flavorful whiskey-- you might want to pick up an extra bottle of two while we have it.
The mash bill is: 65% corn, 22% wheat, 10% rye and 3% malted barley. Aged a minimum of 4 years, after being aged in New White Oak (#3 char), this one is excellent neat or with a rock or two. The nose has notes of caramelized vanilla, dried apricots and a hint of allspice. The palate continues with more brown and baking spices: cinnamon, brown sugar, black tea, clove and a hint of butterscotch. The finish is delightfully creamy-smooth and enjoyable. At 95 proof, this will also elevate any whiskey-based cocktail you want to use if for. And at this incredible price, you can afford to experiment!
Saint Liberty honors prohibition-era women bootleggers-- in this case Mary Curley from Marble, Colorado. Mary traveled to Colorado from Ireland so her husband could join the Marble Mining trade-- she opened a hotel to start a business of her own. She made moonshine out of the back of her hotel and never paid a penny of the fines tied to her name. Even after frequent run-ins with the law, including a stint in jail when she requested her stove and cooking supplies be brought to her cell so she could cook for the other poor jailhouse residents, Mary still refused to pay!
NOSE: Inviting nose with sweet notes of caramelized vanilla, dried apricots and a hint of allspice.
PALATE: Warm and inviting with flavors of cinnamon, brown sugar, black tea, clove.
FINISH: Sweet charred oak and a hint of butterscotch, creamy-smooth and memorable.
