Nestled high on a hill, Rutherford Hill Winery commands a spectacular view overlooking the Rutherford bench of Napa Valley. It is from a handful of the most select Napa vineyards that Rutherford Hill continues its tradition of crafting legendary wines. In 1972, while the rest of the world was just beginning to take notice of Napa Valley, the founders of Rutherford Hill recognized a unique opportunity; they believed that the climate and soil of the valley were well-suited to Bordeaux varietals (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc) and have become one of Napa's premier wineries.
Michael Coode is their passionate, driven and dynamic winemaker. His experience spans 18 harvests across four countries including experience at world-renowned Chateaux Margaux in Bordeaux, Paul Jaboulet Aîné in the Rhône Valley, Inglenook in Napa Valley, Inniskillin in Niagara and Wolf Blass in Adelaide. Michael and the rest of the Rutherford Hill team are fully committed to sustainable farming and green business practices across all of their operations.
