Traditionally used for blending, it's good to see a single malt release from this Speyside distillery. The Royal Brackla Cawdor Estate is the oldest of three single malts launched in 2015 as part of the Last Great Malts from John Dewar and Sons. Distilled slowly, with plenty of reflux and matured in Oloroso Sherry casks, this is a SPECIAL whisky indeed! Whisky region: Highland Nose: A fresh fruitiness, cucumber and water melon. Spicy curry and a potato aroma. Palate: Intense amounts of exotic fruits like papaya, pineapples and water melon alongside fresh crisp taste. A little sugary sweetness in the form of vanilla, coconut and chocolate. Finish: A fruity finish that fades into grassy and bitter notes. Long and satisfying - lovely!
