Latin for "out of the shadows", the name is pulled from the quote ex umbris et imaginibus in veritatem (roughly "from shadows and symbols goes the truth"). The 2021 Ex Umbris opens on the nose with dark fruits and a touch of minerality. The lingering aromas then give way to blackberry and blueberry on the palate. Subtle black pepper and licorice follows the fruit to the mid-palate. The tannins are structured yet smooth, which makes this a great wine to drink now or lay it down for a few years.
