Traditionally-style white Riojas are a bit like Spain's white Burgundy, and this one is fantastic for the price! Oak aging with the fine yeast lees creates a more savory, nutty/floral tone, along with a chalky texture infused into its subtle citrus and stone-fruit character. Riviere's "La Bastid" shows an extended, warming and savory-tinged finish, with the subtly unctuous echo of stone fruit like nectarine. Delicious! Fermented and aged in medium- and large-format French oak and concrete. Native yeast. Vegan. Grown in iron-rich marl soils near Cardenas, Rioja Alta.
