The same botanicals, pure organic base spirit, and distillation process as our flagship Taffel Style aged for a minimum of 12 months in previously used American oak, rye whiskey casks*. No additives, coloring, or chill-filtration needed or welcomed. This is aged aquavit in its most honest form and a rare offering within the category, especially given its cask strength proof.
Nose: Freshly cut spearmint leaves, floral top notes, hints of oak, and a touch of honey.
Palate: Heavy wafts of caraway hit the palate before the liquid even touches the tongue. Followed by mild citrus then lingering wildflower honey. Any dry character of the oak is subtle yet adds a nice balance to the sweetness that dominates.
Finish: Easy going down leaving a light honey, vanilla, citrus, and floral taste lingering until the next sip.
Overall: A full-bodied harmony of evolved botanical aromas and pronounced caraway spice with a vanilla-laced, sweet citrus finish.
Neat serve: Lightly chilled.
For cocktails: Makes a great substitution in cocktails that call for aged spirits.
Pairings: Aged cheeses, roast pork, and smoked or cured meats.
*Every batch is a blend of 3-5 casks that match our desired flavor profile and have aged between 12 and 24 months. On occasion, superlative experimental and rare cask bottlings that have aged over 2 years will be offered in extremely limited supply as part of the “KURIOSA KOLLEKTION”.
