This is a delightful Recioto della Valpolicella (essentially a dessert wine version of Amarone), for a very reasonable price! Woodsy spice and vibrant cherry cordial are the pure, driving aromas of classic Valpolicella (Musella says they are reminiscent of cherry bark) and you'll find that here in spades, along with cedar and lightly creamy, toasted vanilla from the luxurious 2 years of aging in large, new oak barrels. What a treat, especially for Fall and Winter!
"Only the best grapes from the best vintages are used for this wine. The grapes are dried for 150 days, then gently crashed and fermented in open tonneaux for about two months. After the gently pressing, Recioto rests for maturation in new tonneaux for at least 2 years. The wine is aged in bottle for one year before release." - MUSELLA
