This superbly-balanced wine comes from the forested hills of Radda, a cooler area with limestone & clay soils. Both vibrant and vinous, there is clarity in the notes of dark red berries, balsam herbs, tobacco and developing undergrowth, with a gentle grip of Sangiovese's classic 'dusty' tannins. Monteraponi is a beautiful estate based around a late 10th century village, whose wine cellar dates back to the 12th century. Fantastic wines from a peaceful, bucolic space.

"The winery extends over an area of 200 hectares set in a natural amphitheater, which is exposed to the south and sheltered from the north winds.
