Hi-Time's Top Sakes of 2024
Misuzu comes from a microbrewery (of about 7 employees) located in the mountains of the Senba Kaido in Nagano Prefecture. There, they make a delicious, elegant yet fruity sake that is with a medium-bold flavor. You are greeted on the nose and palate by apple, yellow plum and passionfruit. The finish is dry and direct. This is a fun and playful sake with a serious edge. Milled down to 35% of its Yamada Nishiki rice grain, the quality is superb. Normally you would have to pay up to $60 for a sake of this degree of milling, but the fact that we can sell it for under $40 make this an absolute steal! As soon as we tasted this and found out the price, we bought every bottle available. Grab it while you can.
Prefecture: Nagano
Rice Variety: Yamada Nishiki (also from Nagano)
Seimaibuai (rice polishing ratio): 35%
SMV (Sake Meter Value): +2 (neutral)
Acidity: 1.4
Other attributes: Muroka (non-charcoal filtered)
