Grignolino (green-yo-LEE-no) is a very old grape variety from Piedmont, grown and vinified since the Middle Ages. It is light and bright with subtle floral aromas, red-berried fruits like strawberry and cranberry and light spices. Medium-light in body with gentle chalky tannin and a savory finish with a hint of medicinal herbs - a great alternative to rose' to chill down! Good on its own or with appetizers.
