This mid-bodied, softly-textured wine is like Spring in a glass! It's made from an old, highly-aromatic red variety called Lacrima (Tear), in the bucolic Morro d'Alba area of Italy's central Marche region. This seductive little wine is perfect with fresh sheep cheeses and herbal, lightly peppered cured meats!
"Deep violet in color, the wine explodes out of the glass with an extremely intense and heady bouquet of exotic Eastern flowers and wild strawberries and pomegranate. Once past the intriguing nose, the palate features wild berry compote, hints of roses, violets and geranium, a note of pink peppercorn and finishes very fresh and limited tannins. An utterly unique experience featuring outstanding balance and concentration." - WINERY NOTES

"Mario Lucchetti began in the 1980s with the first acres of Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, one of the local indigenous varietals in this rural area of Le Marche in the province of Ancona, not far from the town of Jesi. His passion focused on restoring the importance of the area’s native [varieties]. With new plantings in 2004, the estate’s total vineyard size expanded to 14 hectares and continues to grow today. In recent years, Mario’s son Paolo completed his degree in enology and is now working side by side with his father to carry the family tradition into the next decades." - MASSANOIS, IMPORTER
