The 1er Cru location Clos de la Cave des Ducs is the highest vineyard in the municipality of Volnay, and it is also very small. In addition to its excellent orientation, benefits from the old vines, which have reached a remarkable average of around 50 years. The proportion of new barriques is moderate at only around 20%, the cultivation takes place according to biodynamic methods, but without organic certification.
2021 is a subtle and rather cool vintage that produced Pinot Noirs with glorious precision, as demonstrated by this magnificent specimen. A sublime Volnay, classic, fine and able to age a long time.
