Few whiskies reach this age let alone these heights. Laphroaig can be a polarizing whisky when young, but with careful aging these whiskies transform into the picture of elegance and harmony, with the peat still there but playing equal measure to complex notes of sea salt, fresh caramel, stewed citrus, fragrant heather, spicy herbs, bread pudding, apple streudel, coconut cake and hints of cedar.
