LA GERLA 2022 "POGGIO GLI ANGELI" 100% SANGIOVESE GROSSO

La Gerla's "Angels' Hill" is a delicious, everyday take on the Sangiovese of Montalcino that delivers a lot for the price! It's mid-bodied and softer-textured than its bigger siblings (Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino), but full of the rich, earthy character that they're known for. The 2022 has a core of red plum and cherry infused with lightly dusty clay and Mediterranean shrub, accompanied by bitter orange peel that comes out on the dry, lightly grainy finish. It's perfect for savory dishes like pasta with ragu' or citrus-marinated pork roasts!
