Jaffurs Wine Cellars is dedicated to producing great Rhône varietal wines with a New World independence. Jaffurs works closely with their growers in the Santa Ynez, Ballard Canyon, Santa Rita Hills, Los Alamos, and Santa Maria regions. Jaffurs limits vineyard yields and require that optimal farming practices are observed. Those who have enjoyed these wines in the past know that Jaffurs makes wines that rival those that are twice the price, which makes the Jaffurs wines even more enticing! This gem of a value earned brilliant 92-point scores from esteemed critics Jeb Dunnuck and Antonio Galloni!
ANTONIO GALLONI 92 POINTS - "The 2022 Syrah (Santa Barbara County) is a blend of the six sites in the portfolio, done with mostly destemmed fruit. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and black pepper are so alive in the glass. The county Syrah offers gorgeous depth and energy, all in a mid-weight style that is hugely appealing."
JEB DUNNUCK 92 POINTS - "Darker berry fruits, peppery herbs, bay leaf, and salted meat-like notes all emerge from the 2022 Syrah, a medium-bodied, round, supple, straight-up delicious Syrah that's guaranteed to put a smile on your face any time over the coming 7-8 years. The 2022 is 84% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah, and 4% each of Grenache and Mourvèdre, from a mix of great sites, that saw 20% stems and all neutral oak."
