We're delighted to announce that Salvatore Ferragamo, owner of Tuscany's Il Borro estate, will be gracing Hi-Time Wine Cellars with another in-person tasting at our wine bar! After overseeing a busy harvest, he'll be sharing his love for the wines already in bottle, from their everyday "Borrigiano" to their flagship Super-Tuscan "Il Borro." As a rare treat, we'll even be showing off their rare magnum opus, the "Nitrito" Cabernet Sauvignon! Just as in fashion, the Ferragamo family has imprinted their distinctive sense of style into the wines, bringing a compelling sleekness and finesse to Tuscany's classically bold and dry style.
Lying in the sunny Arno River valley below Florence, the Il Borro estate had belonged to nobility for centuries until it was purchased by Ferruccio Ferragamo, son of the Ferragamo fashion company's founder. Throughout the 1990s, he and his son, Salvatore, took up an ambitious restoration project to bring the sprawling estate back to life while preserving its history. Today, the gorgeous property serves as an idyllic resort amongst organically farmed vines, olive trees and vegetable gardens, whose produce you can enjoy at its exceptional restaurants.
