This Ichiro’s Malt & Grain Classic Edition is a superb world blended whisky from one of Japan’s very best producers. Ichiro’s have been at the forefront of developing and promoting the World Blend category, even winning some World Whiskies Awards for their creations. This new release brings everything you would expect and more. It’s smooth and well-balanced but brings a complexity that takes several drams to fully explore. Fruits, spices and hints of peat smoke and oak bounce off each other in style, delivering a drinking experience that will keep you coming back for more, time and time again. A real delight.
Tasting Notes,
Nose: fresh and delicate. Vanilla and some coconut in the back. A floral note. Pears and lemons.
Palate: it’s rather creamy. Pears and vanilla here as well. Toffee. Kiwi. and honey. Then green bananas. Later it also gets somewhat spicy too: pink peppercorns, ginger and cinnamon.
Finish: mid-long to long. Vanilla and bananas. And a hint of the same spices as on the palate
