Another fantastic value from Italy! This mouthwatering white comes from the Matelica valley of the Marche region, famous for its powerful Verdicchios. True to its name, theres a green herbal accent to the yellow citrus and high-toned apple character, but it comes with a touch of creaminess thanks to a parital aging in neutral oak (only 1/5 of the wine) with fine lees stirring. The palate is perfectly matched to the aromas, with Verdicchio's driving acidity as well as those chalky-creamy lees on the edges. You'll find a deliciously extended, mouthwateringly juicy finish that's clean and dry, with a hint of the variety's subtle hazlenut on the back end.
