NATURAL WINE
From Jenny & Francois Selections (who, since 2000 was one of the very first importers focused solely on “Natural Wines”) comes FRUG, (pronounced “froog”) named after the dance popular back in the 1960’s. Frug is a skin contact, Orange wine, light-hearted and dry. A fresh blend of 70% Grüner Veltliner and 30% Roter Traminer. Spontaneous fermentation is done in stainless steel, 70% destemmed and 30% whole cluster, for 8 days without crushing. The free-run juice goes through malolactic fermentation and rests for 4 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks. Bottled without filtration or fining. The wine has a light floral and herbal nose with flavors apple, passionfruit and fresh peach and lime. It also comes in a 1Liter bottle, making it, “frugal” and 12% ABV. Do the FRUG!!
