As a prominent emblem of "la dolce vita" Ferrari Trento's bubblies have been featured at major international events for decades. Over the years Jeroboams of Ferrari's brut have frequented numerous Formula 1 podiums. However, since 2021 the Ferrari brand has become even more high profile than ever thanks to the firm's partnership with Formula 1 Racing as the official Sparkling Wine of Formula 1. With over 500 million passionate fans, Formula 1 is second only to soccer as our planet's most popular sport. Like Formula 1, Ferrari Trento (no relation to the race car company) has a long and respected history. Giulio Ferrari founded the firm in 1902 and became a leading pioneer in the production of world class Italian Metodo Classico sparkling wines. After studying winemaking in France, Giulio became convinced that his native region's mountainous terroir was ideal for growing Chardonnay. Today, three of his best-known cuvées (Ferrari Brut, Perlé and Giulio Ferrari) are entirely composed of Chardonnay. This innovative approach quickly paid off. Ferrari sparkling wines consistently receive some of Italy's top accolades, including being awarded Tre Bicchieri 22 years in a row.

The Chardonnay grapes for this multi-vintage brut are drawn from select hillside vineyards above 300 meters, with southwestern exposures. After a hand-harvest in September, the wine undergoes a gentle pressing and first fermentation in tanks. The base wine is bottled and a second fermentation occurs with selected local yeasts. The wine is matured at least 24 months on the lees, with a gradual turning of the bottle upside-down (remuage). Sediment is removed through disgorgement.

This long-running staff favorite proffers classic notes of doughy green apples and apricots accented with a pleasing hint of toast while the suave palate is toned by bright acidity and tiny, gentle bubbles. This is a versatile, easy drinking bubbly, that compares well to many popular Champagnes and represents a smart buy at its normal twenty-three-dollar tariff. Now, thanks to a contentious distribution transition, we were able to obtain this beautiful sparkler at a freakishly low price and are, thus, able to offer it to you for less than its normal wholesale cost. This remarkable offer, of course, is limited to our stock on hand and therefore we urge you to race to your car, keyboard or smart phone and stock up while you can.

JAMES SUCKLING 91 POINTS - "An immediately appealing sparkling wine, brimming with apple and lemon aromas, but also delicate yeasty and freshly baked white-bread notes. The creamy mousse complements the lively acidity very nicely and, in spite of the impression of lightness, the finish is long with a spot-on balance. Drink now."

WINE SPECTATOR 90 POINTS - "Fresh and balanced, with a fine, lacy bead and a streak of salinity underscoring the Asian pear, ground ginger, hazelnut and lemon zest notes. Very drinkable."

Tried this because it is poured over the Formula 1 winners. My wife and I really liked it!. We usually drink French champagne and enjoyed this with croissants/lemon curd/bacon - a perfect match! Beat our expectations - 100% Chardonnay grapes.
