We have been looking for a crowd-pleasing wine that overdelivers and have found it! The 2022 Ferrand Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Antique compares favorably to a very good bottle from Chateauneuf du Pape-at a fraction of the price!

James Suckling gave this wine a score of 94 Points, saying, "This has exceptional depth for the appellation" and has "fabulous textural complexity." We agree and love how this Grenache driven blend delivers with full-bodied richness of layered red fruits, black raspberry, plum, licorice, spice and garrigue.

This wine possesses impressive depth and mouth filling goodness while remaining fresh and delicious. This is a great drinking wine which is complementary to most any type of food and very enjoyable on its own. It is an absolute steal at this price and one to purchase by the case and enjoy as an "everyday drinker."

Philippe Bravay draws on the heritage of his father and grandfather who planted vineyards that today supply the "antique" old vine Grenache which are 50 to 100 years old! These, together with smaller amounts of Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault combine to give this wine a concentrated, rich mouthfeel.

The low yielding vines are farmed organically as are his fantastic plots in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The wine is fermented and aged in neutral vessels to let the old vine concentrated fruit speak for itself without being obscured by oak. The result is a purity of fruit which transcends the humble appellation.

This rich, lushly palated red is unquestionably one of the greatest Rhone values available today. Supply is limited, when it's gone it's gone!

JAMES SUCKLING 94 POINTS - "This has exceptional depth for the appellation. Not just a wide spectrum of ripe red fruit, but also licorice, spices and bark. The full-bodied palate has a fabulous textural complexity, the fine tannins building beautifully at the very complete finish. Just doesn't want to stop. From three hectares of ancient vines. 80% grenache with some mourvedre and clairette. Drink or hold."
