The grapes in Failla's Willamette Valley Pinot Noir hail from four impeccable vineyards of the Northern Willamette Valley: Amity Hills, Seven Springs, Bjornson and Eola Springs. The vineyards range in diverse terroir as well as ideal mature vines to add layers of complexity. Fermentation occurs through native yeast and 25% is whole cluster. The wines age sur lie in 10% new French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Aromatically the wine has nuances of rose petals, orange zest, cranberries and pomegranate seeds. On the palate the wine has mouth-watering acidity and well structured tannins that tie together with flavors of fresh mushrooms and brambly red berries.
