Born in 1875, Prosper Delord started as an itinerant distiller, carting around his still from farm to farm. He later married Marie Duffau and they established the business in Lannepax. Prime owners of 70 acres of vineyards in the best soils of the Bas Armagnac, aka the 1st Cru, the Delord / Marie Duffau family has been growing vines, distilling, ageing and blending for 4 generations. Colombard, Ugni Blanc, Baco and Folle Blanche grapes, a single slow distillation process, at low temperature, the use Limousin and Gascon oak for good tannins, great color and beautiful spices give this Bas Armagnac a fabulous reputation.
Delord 25 years old is a very luscious brandy with flavors of toffee, prunes, dark caramel and rancio.
