2018 D66
This has always been a delicious wine ever since it's inaugural release in 2009. Staying true to it's style, the 2018 is similar to all other D66 vintages with the exception to it's rich viscous unctuous body style. It is still not a lean wine, it is full body- but not as big as the 14, 15 and 16 vintages. However, for the money, you would be hard pressed to find a better value pleasing mouthful than the 2018 D66. Extracted grenache with dark raspberries, cassis and chocolate notes with a nice vanilla finish due to barreling add to a nice medium plush mouthful feel and finish. Enjoy this wine with all foods that are not sweet.
