The Concannon legacy all began on St. Patrick's Day in 1847. That is when James Concannon was born on an island off the coast of Ireland. At 18 he sailed to the USA and worked his way to California where he started a winery. 75 years later, his descendants began growing the very first Petite Sirah grapes in America. This Concannon whiskey connects the history throughout. From the Cooley distillery in Ireland, Single Malt and grain whiskey is blended and aged in American oak for 4 years before being finished in Concannon Petite Sirah wine barrel, demonstrating the confluence of its Irish-American heritage. The nose connotes its soft and subtle characteristics with scents of lightly toasted white bread, grape, quince, peaches, malt, nutmeg honey, slight vanilla and taffy. The flavors follow the nosing in a creamy mouthfeel with delicate spice, oily nuts and taffy. The finish starts with juicy, nice spices that linger with vanilla and slowly dry up leaving you wanting another sip.
