DESSERT WINE
Recioto della Valpolicella is the dessert red of Valpolicella, made from air-dried grapes as for Amarone della Valpolicella. This estate dries two lots for 3 & 4 months, with the 2nd lot added to continue the fermentation of the 1st. The wine is then mellowed in stainless steel for several years before bottling. Unlike Amarone, there is more fruit purity since the balsam, spice, and oxidation of barrel aging is not present.
