Winery Bura-Mrgudic is a family estate, run by siblings Mare Mrgudic and Niko Bura, located on the Peljesac Peninsular near the Dalmatian coast in Croatia. The vineyards of this small, artisanal winery are situated on the incredibly steep Cru slopes of Postup and Dingac where Mare and Niko painstakingly tend to their Plavac Mali vines. The Yugoslav government recogzined Dignac as an appellation in 1961, the first such region in what became Croatia thirty years later. The region is famous for Plavac Mali, a grape that is the offspring of Crljenak (Zinfandel), which loves baking in the heat and greatly expresses the site on which it is grown.

The Plavac Mali grapes selected for this cuvée were harvested a bit earlier from the estate’s younger vines, presenting a beautiful example of traditional Plavac with a modern touch of freshness. Mouthwatering aromas of plums, blueberries and fresh fig burst from the glass. This wine is soft and elegant on the palate with a delightful balance of purple/blue fruits complemented with a lively acidity and velvety tannins. Enjoy with hard, aged cheeses and cured meats or roasted or stewed red meats or game.
