History,
A 1987 vintage expression of Booker's bourbon aged for 8 years and 8 months before being bottled at 125.13 proof/62.65% Abv. Released in the mid 1990s, older expressions of Bookers like these are few and far between, with many of the early 8 year old releases like this heralded as some of the best bourbon that Beam has ever produced. This lot also includes a poster and has been signed by Booker Noe
Tasting Notes,
Nose: wet leaves and damp earth. It strikes an odd mixture of earthy and sweet that smells like a comboniation of portobellos marinated in balsamic.
Palate: Powerful oak that is lightly tannic in the way of raw almonds. The sweetness is earthy and woody, a dark maple syrup or those handmade birch sodas.
