The region, which forms a 'C' shape surrounding the prestigious Priorat region, has a rich history of wine-making, dating back to the Roman period. Over the centuries, Catholic monks continued the viticultural tradition during the Middle Ages.

It was vinified with 30% whole clusters and matured for 22 months in 35% new French oak. It has slowly unfurling scents of briary fruit, cured meats, iron, coffee beans and latent floral and amaro undertones. The medium-bodied palate has a concentrated core of tri-colored fruit reminiscent of wild berry candy. It has bright, juicy acidity and powdery tannins, and although it's easy to drink, it doesn't sacrifice complexity."
