JOHN GILMAN 93 POINTS - "The 2020 Volnay “Santenots” from Domaine Bernard Moreau is another very refined example, with a touch more plushness on the attack and in the mid-palate than the two Chassagne rouge bottlings this year, but the same sense of precision and low octane. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a classy mix of black cherries, black plums, pigeon, dark soil tones, bitter chocolate, woodsmoke, a touch of currant leaf and a gentle foundation of new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and focused, with a sappy core of fruit, lovely soil inflection and grip, ripe, seamless tannins and a long, complex and beautifully balanced finish. Fine juice."
