The spirit that actor Ryan Reynolds made famous, Aviation is a lovely gin that makes a fantastic cocktail. And though he sold the spirit for a heady sum, he still has an active interest in the company and is a brand ambassador. We really liked the review over at Tastings.com: "Clear color. Aromas and flavors of anise, juniper and lavender, raspberry, lemon, and orange, and black pepper with a round, crisp, dry medium body and a tingling, intriguing, medium-length finish that exhibits notes of cedar, cocoa nibs, and licorice, lemon pepper, angelica and coriander, and peppermint and herbs de provence. Bright and fruity with plenty of herbs and juniper essence and an almost spicy zip on the palate."
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Juniper and cardamom infused milk. Hint of smoke and freshly cut grass, with spa-like characteristics driven by the lavender, coriander and sweet orange. Spice notes from caraway, anise and pepper.
Palate: Pleasantly heavy rye and spice entry with floral lavender and anise top notes, followed by juniper, cardamom, coriander and dried orange peel.
Finish: Lightly sweet clean finish with citrus pith, some peppery spice and lite smokiness.
