This benchmark Barolo is made from one of the prime vineyard area around the Cicala hill, in the Bussia Soprana district of Monforte d'Alba. Powerful and earthy, with the taming of new oak barrels for aging, Aldo Conterno's wines maintain a tension between the traditional and the modern.

WINE SPECTATOR 95 POINTS - "A solid, powerful style, this expressive red is well-marked by new oak, with plum, cherry, cigar box, menthol and sun-kissed hay flavors. Balanced and lively, with and a long, spice-infused finish. Best from 2025."

The Conterno family has been making wine since the 1700’s and Aldo Conterno is regarded as one of the great producers of Piedmont. As a young man, Aldo worked with his brother, Giovanni before striking out on his own in 1969. He developed a reputation as an innovator with a focus on quality and attention to detail and passed this dynamism on to his three sons who now run the business.
