Aberlour is an historical place and its story stretches back over a thousand years. In the ancient past, a druid community lived in the valley. The druids valued oak trees and water and believed you could hear the water spirits talking to each other. Aberlour is a Gaelic word meaning 'mouth of the chattering burn' (stream). Water and an oak tree still feature today on the Aberlour label.
