Harvested, roasted, fermented and distilled by the gregarious Atelo Ramirez and his wife Laura Arriaga, this post-distillation maestro’s blend of two small, wild Papalome (Agave potatorum) batches is nothing short of a tropical masterpiece. Both species were harvested in the Zapotitlan Salinas region of Puebla and distilled by Maestro Mezcalero Atelo Ramirez and his wife, Laura Arriaga. Atelo and Laura use a homemade still fashioned from a galvanized steel barrel, a clay cazuela hat, and a copper coil housed in another barrel.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Grapefruit, orange, and vanilla beans.
Palate: Notes of grapefruit, grilled pineapple, tropical fruit punch, and angel food cake
Finish: Bit of warmth that’s really nice and not overwhelming.
